Founder and CEO Arne Lundmark helped pioneer landscape courses with water and topography in the 1970's and 1980's as a designer, builder and owner of family entertainment centers featuring miniature golf. "Over the years, course design, construction and methodology have significantly improved and changed to match the needs of the market", says Lundmark. "Todays landscape courses feature: topography, waterfalls, streams, ponds and bridges, interesting contoured golf holes, and golf-hole edges with a variety of finishes. Landscape courses are usually found in residential markets, campgrounds, resorts, small communities, or areas where there is a lack of competition. Budgets can be changed to suit the needs of the owner and the market. Miniature golf designs incorporate the design and technology from AGS combined with the vision of the owner. We listen to the owner and then embellish those ideas, offer new advice based on 30+ years of experience, and design a landscape course that is creative, imaginative and fun.
AGS courses use a design discipline for every golf hole called
"Choice, Chance, Challenge and Fun." This concept improves miniature golf course playability by providing features that give the players the choice of more ways to putt the ball through, over, around and under obstacles to the hole cup. We create many ways to get to the hole-cup and offer the chance for the ball to change direction and go into an unexpected hazard, trigger a sound effect or get a hole-in-one! All of this is done while still giving young children ease of fun and excitement while challenging adults by providing features that give players The Choice, Chance, and Challenge!
